Sample data: a month of ACH bank activity. $12,480 in deposits, a $201 return and a $750 disbursement, for $11,529 in net activity.

From request to deposit

Four stages, four different records.

A payment can pass through four stages: requested, processing, settled and deposited. Each shows in its own place, and none stands in for the next.

  1. Requested

An invoice or payment request asks for payment. Its delivery does not mean it is paid.

  2. Processing

A payment marked Processing has started, and it is still different from settled funds.

  3. Settled

Settled card payments are grouped in batches, recorded apart from your deposits.

  4. Deposited

Deposits show in your bank activity as recorded entries, with returns and disbursements.

Card and ACH views

Card and bank activity, one switch apart.

Switch between the card and ACH views of your activity, and choose the dates you want to see, so each deposit is easy to trace.

  • Card view

Each settled card batch, with its transaction count, its credits and its net total.

  • ACH view

Deposits, returns and disbursements by date, with the number of entries in each.

Sample data: three settled card batches, each with its transaction count and net total.

Returns and disbursements

What came in, and what went out.

Bank activity records deposits, returned ACH payments and disbursements, each as an entry of its own.

  • Returns

A returned ACH payment shows as an entry of its own, apart from the deposits.

  • Disbursements

Disbursement records show recorded activity; the report does not send money.

  • Dates and exports

Choose the dates you need, then export the activity for your own records.

Sample data: three days of ACH bank activity. Two deposits, a $201 return and a $750 disbursement, $5,149 net.

Timing and limits

Timing depends on your setup.

Deposit timing depends on your approved merchant setup. Limits are set when your account is approved, and an ACH return carries a fee.

  • Deposit timing

When card and ACH deposits reach your bank is set with your approved merchant setup.

  • Limits

Set when your account is approved. ACH limits can be raised with a good payment history.

  • ACH returns

Each returned ACH payment carries a $15 fee, and the return shows in your bank activity.

Good questions. Clear answers.

Deposit questions.

What does the bank activity report show?

The bank activity report shows recorded deposits, returns and disbursements. It is a record of activity, not a promise of when funds arrive and not a tool for sending transfers. Processing times and merchant limits apply.

How can I track ACH payments?

ACH payments are payments from a customer’s bank account. Review each one’s details and status in the ACH transactions view, then follow deposits, returns and recorded disbursements in bank activity. A payment marked Processing is not yet settled funds, and merchant limits and processing times apply.

When will deposits reach my bank account?

Deposit timing depends on the payment type and the approved merchant setup. Call us to go through the timing that would apply to your business.

Is a settled payment the same as a deposit?

No. Settled card payments show in card batches. Deposits show in your bank activity as recorded entries, with any returns and disbursements.

Why is my deposit less than my sales?

Sales and deposits are different records. Refunds, chargebacks and ACH returns lower your net revenue, and payments still processing have not settled. Compare your card batches with your bank activity to see each entry.

Can I export my bank activity?

Yes. Select a date range in the bank activity report, then export the deposits, returns and disbursements recorded in it.
