Email payment requests

Get paid by email.

An email payment request puts the amount due and a payment button straight into your customer’s inbox. Request payment by email from your merchant dashboard, then check each request’s email activity and delivery status.

Talk to us about email requests

Three steps from request to payment.

Send a payment request when you want the amount due and a payment button to sit in your customer’s inbox.

  1. Send the request.

Email a payment request to your customer’s inbox from your merchant dashboard.

  2. Give a clear next step.

The email shows the amount due and a clear payment button your customer can use.

  3. Follow the email.

Check each request’s email activity in your merchant reports once it is sent.

Know what was sent.

Sending a request is one part of getting paid. Email activity and transactions sit in separate views, and each one answers a different question.

Payment requests

Review payment-request email activity and delivery status after sending a request. Delivery information describes the email; it does not establish that the customer has paid.

Transactions

Review processing dates, amounts, statuses and transaction details. Keep transaction information distinct from email delivery and from confirmation that funds have settled.

Good questions. Clear answers.

Payment request questions.

What is an email payment request?

An email payment request is an email that shows your customer the amount due and a clear payment button. You send it from your merchant dashboard and can review its delivery status afterwards.

How does an email request differ from a payment link?

A payment-page link and an email payment request are different ways to present a payment. A shared link takes the customer to the hosted page. An email payment request places a payment button in the customer’s inbox.

Does a delivered email mean the customer paid?

No. Delivery status describes the email, not the payment. Check your transaction reports to see whether the customer has paid.

Can I create my own reports?

Yes. Custom transaction views let you build your own reports and schedule their delivery by email. Separate views cover card and ACH transactions, scheduled payments, email activity and card batches.

What is a payment review?

A payment review is a look at how your business takes payments, what you pay today and what you need from your setup. SU Payments starts from your actual numbers and workflow, not a one-size-fits-all headline rate.
