Invoicing

Get invoices paid online.

Online invoicing lets you bill a customer for your work and accept the invoice payment online, through a payment link sent with it. Track each invoice’s payment status and outstanding balance from one merchant dashboard.

Talk to us about invoicing

From invoice to paid, in three steps.

Use an invoice when a customer needs a clear record of the work and the amount due. An email payment request is the lighter option: it puts a payment button in the customer’s inbox.

  1. Create the invoice.

Give the payment a clear amount, purpose and status before it goes out.

  2. Send the invoice.

Send it to your customer with a payment link they can use to pay online.

  3. Track the status.

See its payment status and outstanding balance with your other invoices.

A status should tell you something.

An invoice, an email request and a transaction each have their own status, and each one answers a different question.

Email delivery

Email activity and delivery status show whether a payment request reached your customer. Delivery describes the email; it does not mean they have paid.

Invoice balance

An outstanding balance shows how much of an invoice is still unpaid. It answers a different question from a delivery status or a transaction status.

Transactions

Each transaction shows its processing date, amount, status and details. A status describes the payment record; it does not confirm that funds have settled.

Good questions. Clear answers.

Invoicing questions.

How do customers pay an invoice online?

Send a payment link with the invoice. The link opens a hosted, branded payment page where your customer can pay the amount due, and the payment then appears in your transaction reports.

What can I review after sending an invoice?

After you send an invoice, you can review its payment status and outstanding balance alongside your other invoices, so you can see what has been paid and what is still owed.

How can I track ACH payments?

ACH payments are payments from a customer’s bank account. Review each one’s details and status in the ACH transactions view, then follow deposits, returns and recorded disbursements in bank activity. A payment marked Processing is not yet settled funds, and merchant limits and processing times apply.

Who is SU Payments for?

SU Payments (Systems Upside Payments) is an online payment processing provider for businesses that get paid online: online stores, memberships, digital products and service businesses that collect payments remotely. In-person point-of-sale systems are not part of what it offers.

What is a payment review?

A payment review is a look at how your business takes payments, what you pay today and what you need from your setup. SU Payments starts from your actual numbers and workflow, not a one-size-fits-all headline rate.
