Virtual terminal
Card payments by phone.
A virtual terminal lets you take card payments in your web browser by typing in the details your customer gives you, by phone or by email. No card reader is needed, and every payment lands in your card transactions.
Talk to us about the virtual terminalWays to collect remotely.
A virtual terminal is for payments you key in yourself. If your customer would rather pay on their own, send an email payment request or an invoice instead.
Email payments
Send a payment request to a customer’s inbox, with the amount due and a clear payment button.
Client invoices
Create and send invoices, then track payment statuses and outstanding balances as clients pay.
Keep the full picture.
Once you collect it, a keyed-in payment shows in your card transactions. The sample record shows a $425 remote card payment. A transaction status describes the payment record; it does not confirm that funds have settled.
Card transactions
See the processing date, amount, status and details of every card payment you collect.
Refunds & disputes
Refund or void eligible card payments, and review chargebacks with the reason for each.
Good questions. Clear answers.
Virtual terminal questions.
What is a virtual terminal?
A virtual terminal is a web page where you type in a customer’s card details yourself to take a payment, usually over the phone. With SU Payments it runs in your web browser, so you do not need a card reader.
Do I need a card reader to take payments by phone?
No. The virtual terminal runs in your web browser: you enter the payment details your customer gives you to collect a remote card payment.
Who is SU Payments for?
SU Payments (Systems Upside Payments) is an online payment processing provider for businesses that get paid online: online stores, memberships, digital products and service businesses that collect payments remotely. In-person point-of-sale systems are not part of what it offers.
Can I create my own reports?
Yes. Custom transaction views let you build your own reports and schedule their delivery by email. Separate views cover card and ACH transactions, scheduled payments, email activity and card batches.
What is a payment review?
A payment review is a look at how your business takes payments, what you pay today and what you need from your setup. SU Payments starts from your actual numbers and workflow, not a one-size-fits-all headline rate.
